Messy Muddy Monday
Mondays 12:30pm to 3:30pm
Muddy Messy Mondays offers an afternoon of sensory integration practice for preschool, pre-K and kindergarten children one afternoon a week.
Messy Muddy Mondays utilizes Cuvilly’s entire campus as their classroom.
The children will participate in the following sensory rich activities:
Finger painting, working with shaving cream, playdough
Working in the mud kitchen
Exploring our “Sensory Walk” barefoot
Heavy work—building with logs, rocks, pulling wagons
Creating and enjoying obstacle courses
Building tunnels and running through them
Cooking, chopping, preparing food for themselves and our animal friends
Working in the barn and interacting with farm animals
Sensory Integration is an essential component of childhood development, something many children struggle with. By participating in these activities with friends, children can improve their self-regulation skills, strength, and self-confidence, all while having a lot of fun!
Doing these activities, the children will learn to understand their own unique needs and those of their friends. At the core of this sensory rich experience is Cuvilly’s guiding principal: “All life is sacred and the diversity of life is essential for the well-being of the planet.”
